In 2005, HE CAME BACK, to kill his last blood relative, Steve Stroude, who was inflicted with the Curse of Thorn. Now in 2006, a dead is found at the blown up house and it's taken to the mental hospital. Derek is in the hospital for going inscane and then breaks out with the help of Johnny (who is thought to be dead)(both in the previous Halloween 9 film). Derek kept a crazy michael myers mask with him in the cell, and now IT'S MISSING! Johnny tries to hunt down Dr. Loomis (if he is still alive) and Derek goes back to Haddinfield to warn the local teens from being murdered by The Shape.
